New changes to VIP and a new server!

Recommended Posts

Hey there!

We have been making quite a few changes around the Moose and I suppose I should formally inform everyone somehow. The first and the most important change was the rework of the VIP system. Our old system was kind of clunky and had some communication problems with the server and/or Paypal more times than we'd like to allow. With that being said, I spent some time redoing the entire back-end so that it works much more efficiently and securely.

Most notable changes to the VIP:

  • Multiple kits for modded small are GONE. We now only have one kit for modded that is the median price and has the best of both worlds. If you're curious what it contains you can check it out here.
  • There is no longer a need for you to activate your VIP as long as your have your Steam account already linked to your account. Once your purchase is processed by Paypal and we receive the payment, your VIP will automatically be added into a queue to be activated. This can take up to 60 seconds, but is usually much shorter. You can view the status of your VIP in a little more depth than before by looking at the "Activate & Redeem" item in the navigation bar. It's not extremely in depth, but it gives you an exact time(to the minute) that your VIP will expire.
  • More consistent stocking mechanism. Our stock is now 100% automated and will auto-replenish available stock as current VIPs expire. This will make it 100% first come first serve.
  • We have re-enabled auto-renewal via Paypal Billing Agreements. If you leave the checkbox selected during checkout a billing agreement will be created with Paypal. You can manage this billing agreement in your billing agreements.
  • The VIP system is MUCH more reliable now. I know a lot of you thought we didn't notice or were not aware, but yes we do know that a select few of your VIPs never expired past their expiration date. We have taken steps to prevent this in the future and if you are one of these people, you can expect it to be gone by next wipe. :)

Secondly, we are happy to announce we will be opening a new server! :wookiee_dance:The new server will be a larger version of our modded server. We are still going for a very simplistic type play style with nothing crazy added in. The core 2 mods as of right now will be 2x gather rate(vanilla components) and the weapon on back mod. We are open to suggestions, but this is very unlikely to change. The map size is still a toss up as well as the slots. We're looking for somewhat of a stress test, so we may start out as high as 300 slots and slowly move it down to what we find to be the sweet spot. We have plenty of time before needing to worry about this, but I know plenty of you care about it so if it ever gets popular enough to take on a queue, we will implement our VIP system on this server as well. That's a big if though.

As always, if you have any suggestions, please let us know.

See you on the island,

Rusty Moose Staff
