Recent issues with personal attacks and changes to our rules.

Recommended Posts

Dear Moosers,

It is actually insane that we are having to make an announcement about this in the first place, but apparently it needs to be reiterated.

In the last few months we have been plagued by players that think it is okay to share information about other players and interfere with their everyday lives outside of the game. Hopefully most of you understand that this is not acceptable in Rusty Moose or anywhere in life.

Many people play games to have fun, of course, but also to have an escape from their everyday lives. They get to essentially be a completely different person while they're online without having to worry about it impacting their personal lives. Well, at least that's how it should be.

It has been brought to our attention that many players in the Rust community have been taking it upon themselves to find personal information of fellow players and exploit it.

With that being said, we have updated our Rules page to include a section about this issue. Here is a copy of the new section for you lazy bastards: :)

  • Rusty Moose has zero-tolerance for the doxing or sharing of information of other players. This can include:
    • Sharing pictures of another player or their family without their permission.
    • Referring to another player by their real-life (IRL) name without their permission (assuming it is not publicly displayed on their gaming profiles).
    • Sharing another player's personal information such as their name, age, location, employment, social media profiles, or these same things about a family member of a player.
  • Rusty Moose has zero-tolerance for personal attacks directed at another player that involve their life outside of the game. We are all here to have fun and at the end of the day it is just a game. Please treat it like such.
  • Rusty Moose has zero-tolerance for any harassment directed at a player outside of the game. We love talking shit. In fact, we encourage it! However, this banter should be left in the game.

Anyone caught from here on out in violation of these rules will be banned without chance of appeal and without question. These rules are absolutely zero-tolerance.

As always, thank you for your continued support and we'll see you on the island!

Sincerely, Rusty Moose Staff

Dimon joined our team in January of 2019. He is a well connected member of the Rust streaming community and also has admin experience on large population Rust servers. He is a great addition to our team and will help administrate our EU servers as we branch out into that region.
